Spring Term 2019.
Everyone has returned happily and raring to go!
Please send in a recent photo from home (a Christmassy one would be nice) for your child to talk about and we will put it in their learning journey.
The Staff will be asking you to fill in a statement of undertaking as we do at the start of every new term so that we can access the funding.
Last week the children were able to play with our new toys. The role play area is now a “Vets” and the children enjoyed taking on the roles of the vet, receptionist and people with poorly animals. We have dressing up, dolls and lots of toys to play with.
We visit the main school library on Mondays during session times.
PE began again on Friday last week, and will be on a Friday every week.
This term we will start music and movement during the morning session in the new mobile. We will do this with the children on a Tuesday and they will be using puppets, musical instruments and scarves as they sing along to lots of action songs.
This week the children will be practising their cutting skills. There will be lots of opportunities to use and handle scissors safely, cutting along straight and wavy lines and cutting out different shapes, we have lots of different types of scissors to aid the children’s progress.
Please help! we are running low on birthday cards if you have time at home could you make a birthday card for our birthday box. The children love to choose a birthday card made by another child.
During this term our aim is to help the children become as independent as possible – e.g.
Put on their coat and at least have a go at doing it up.
Put on an apron independently.
Help to tidy up.
Please help us by encouraging your child to do these things at home as well. If we work together, we can win through!
The weather is very changeable at the moment; please send your child to Pre-school in a named warm coat, hat, clothes scarf and sensible shoes as they will be playing outside.
Please could you make sure that everything is labelled with your child’s name e.g. their uniform, coats hat shoes, bookbag etc.
An important date for your diary is Wednesday 30th January.
We will be having an informal open evening and invite parents/carers to come in at the end of the day (3.30-4.30) to look at your child’s learning journey and talk to your child’s key person. This is a very informal occasion for those who are able to come.
Wednesday 23rd February “Little Urchins” – photographer will be here. This year the theme is woodland fairies and pirates. These photos are absolutely beautiful and very different to the norm.
Thank you for your continued support.
Any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to ask.
